Equistone-backed Nylacast acquires Viva Nylons

Nylacast announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Viva Nylons as part of its expansion plans. The transaction represents Nylacast’s first acquisition since Equistone invested in the company in 2018.

Located in Leicester, UK, Viva is a renowned manufacturer of cast nylon semi-finished products and delivers a wide stock range of plates, rods and tubes to distributors and machining centres across the globe.

The recent acquisition forms part of Nylacast’s wider growth strategy and commitment to offering value-adding engineered solutions to its customer base of leading manufacturers from industries including construction, transport, pharmaceuticals, defence, marine and energy.

The acquisition was agreed at an undisclosed sum and will see Viva Nylons become a wholly owned subsidiary of Nylacast, preserving its brand for the foreseeable future.

Nylacast currently has three manufacturing plants in Leicester along with its World Headquarters. The engineering firm has additional plants in China, South Africa and the USA. Employing 530 members of staff, Nylacast services a worldwide marketplace with its custom-engineered, low-weight, low-friction components used in safety-critical applications to maximise production and minimise downtime.
